Meeting Senor Macias

What is up!?!?

So that’s nuts to hear about the Codes and the AMA (I can’t remember what AMA is) Friday is my P-Day. I don’t have much time to write so I'll keep it short. Senor Macias was awesome. He came in and asked us where we were going and we said Monterrey and he got super happy since he lives there. Long story short, He answered a few questions like what we have to do there and where to eat and what to eat like Carne Asada. He says that Monterrey in known for having the best meat anywhere. We took a picture with him and he said if anyone tries to mess with us to show them the picture and say we're friends with him and they will leave us alone because he’s respected that much and he’s kind of a big deal. Also he said if we ever need anything to talk to him and he will take care of us. Pretty nuts. In about 2 hours, we will have a devotional with the Prophet and some of his apostles. I’m super stoked. We are singing in the choir so we can have a guaranteed spot in the gym where it’s held. I am super jealous about the BBQ thing and how you guys did it after I left... Jacob isn’t too happy either. That’s awesome about Darwin! I wish I could meet this hottie from China! I think about "The Other Guys" often. We as a district quote that movie and Nacho Libre the most. The quiet fight at the funeral is pretty awesome. Next time you see Ben Pace, tell him to write and that I miss his face! Ha that’s funny about the God forgives you for falling asleep during a Temple session, but forgetting about it because your serving others. I feel like that a lot as a missionary, like falling asleep in class or something ha-ha. I was freaking out about the story about Braden’s girlfriend Maria Lopez. I thought it was real until I read about how it was a joke... I have not yet received a letter from Jeremy... I don’t know if he found my present yet either in the top right drawer of his desk. Tell Braden to ask him for me. HOW WAS FATHERS DAY?!?! Becca said dad was funny because he stared out the window watching the wind blow the trees around. How is GPA Joe? I’m sorry about the surgery. I hope it goes well though. I’m glad you finally got the pictures. I’m sending my card to Becca so she can email my pictures to you. I’m jealous about Washington as well. If you get to eat lunch with Jacob I’m going to be super jealous! Tell Braden to write me!! I bet Les Mis was awesome. I heard it was amazing. A kid in my district sings songs from it in the shower ha-ha. Well my time is pretty much spent. 4 elders from my district left on wed for the Peru MTC. It was pretty sad. Our class room has so much more space now. We have investigators that our teachers pretend to be (basically like teaching real investigators) and one of them has accepted to being baptized on July 15! I don’t know how because my Spanish was so bad but he likes what he hears! Well I love you all! WRITE ME!!! I need some love! I’ll write you back!

First letter from the MTC

Howdy! Well a week has gone by... The days are excruciatingly slow... But the weeks are short. Spanish is going alright, but still really slow. I don’t know if I told you or not, but my teacher is making our class a pilot class meaning only speaking in Spanish, praying in Spanish, Bearing testimony is Spanish, and we have now given about 4 lessons in Spanish which weren't very  good because I don’t know Spanish. The MTC is tiring, both physically and mentally. I’m still getting used to not getting any sleep and going to class 8 hours, then 3-4 hours of study either personal or companion. Other than that, it’s pretty alright. We went to the Temple today which was cool. We get to rent for free because were missionaries. It’s a little different in this Temple as well. My district is way fun. Fast Sunday was pretty cool. I didn’t have a desire to eat all day so I was good. No headaches or anything. We had sacrament meeting in Spanish and I got to bear my testimony in Spanish. We watched Joseph Smith: Prophet of the Restoration which is one of my favorites, but this one was different. There were parts taken out and some more put in. Also Joseph Smiths mom narrated the entire thing. The other night I was having a hard time because Spanish was kicking my butt and I felt like I was failing horribly, but then I just kind of snapped out of it then I wanted to watch a James Bond movie... Random I know. We had a devotional on Tuesday and Brother or Elder Kikuchi from the 70 talked to us. He gave a really good talk. On wed, for some random reason, I got like a burst of energy all day and I was just super pumped. I need all kinds of pictures family, friends, random anything that I can hang up on my wall. All kinds of snacks are appreciated. I was going to start a black market here because there is no caffeine and I was walking around drinking a mountain dew and everybody was willing to pay. But then I ask my teacher and he said don’t because I could probably get into trouble. I do have a microwave! Elder Hiatt is sweet. I don’t really know what to say about him. He’s from North Carolina. I’ll send pictures soon. I can’t hook it up to the computer but ill print some off. That sucks about the Tahoe! I like her... I miss cheese crisps. Tell me about the BoM musical CD! Everyone says it's terrible but I know nothing about it. Diamondbacks are sweet. I’m glad they are doing well. Ha dads’ story about the Temple was hilarious. I almost did that when I went today. Have Amanda send me vitamins and all kinds of things to keep me and my skin healthy! If you find my Kierre Lewis CD I WANT IT!! I got to go but I lovvee you!
